Built on tried and tested traction technology, the Alimak ME marine elevator features superior ride comfort, payload capacities of up to 1600 kg and two different car sizes. Utilising state-of-the-art safety features, the marine elevator is compliant with European regulations and can be used as a passenger lift or material and freight hoist.
The Alimak ME Marine elevator facilitates the transportation of up to 21 passengers or 1600 kg of freight to support efficient and practical operations on marine vessels. The compact design of the Alimak ME considers the value of space on marine vessels to deliver impressive hoisting power with a minimal footprint.
Available in two car sizes, 1.1 x 2.1 x 2.1 metres or 1.4 x 2.5 x 2.1 metres, the Alimak ME eliminates the need for a machine room and requires only 2.1 x 2.5 metres or 2.325 x 2.95 metres of shaft space for the smaller and larger car sizes respectively.
As a marine elevator, the Alimak ME was designed with the unique conditions and challenges presented by marine environments in mind for additional durability. Humidity, strong winds and the roll and pitch of the ocean were considered throughout the design process of the ME elevator resulting in reinforced landing doors, a reinforced carbon steel frame and the availability of hot dip galvanisation to prevent corrosion from humidity.
A number of safety features are also incorporated into the design of the Alimak ME elevator. In the event of an emergency, the intelligent design of the ME enables a prompt escape with LED roof lighting, an escape ladder and a dedicated ceiling escape hatch. The Alimak ME was also developed and manufactured for compliance with 2014/33/EU regulations, DNV Rules for lifts and EN81-20/50, ISO 8383. The Alimak SE-Ex explosion proof elevator is also available in particularly hazardous marine environments.
Each marine elevator shaft is designed to meet the needs of each stakeholder for a compact, robust design that increases the efficiency of operations. To utilise the shaft, multiple landings can be included depending on the type of vessel and requirements of the elevator. Alimak uses state-of-the-art 3D modelling software to enable the seamless integration of the Alimak ME into the design and structure of a marine vessel.
