Alimaks kuggst\u00e5ngshissar anpassar sig till lutningar och kurvor, tr\u00e5nga utrymmen och bl\u00e5siga f\u00f6rh\u00e5llanden och f\u00e4rdas upp till toppen av de allra h\u00f6gsta strukturerna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c5r 2002 driftsattes en specialbyggd Alimak SE 500-passagerarhiss f\u00f6r att tillhandah\u00e5lla transporter till en av de b\u00e4sta panoramautsikterna \u00f6ver Thailands huvudstad. Hissen \u00e4r installerad inuti den inverterade Y-betongpylonen p\u00e5 den prestigefyllda snedkabelbron Rama VIII, som korsar Chao Phraya-floden i Bangkok. Den m\u00e4ter 0,9 m x 1,3 m och f\u00e4rdas uppf\u00f6r ett av mastens ben med en hastighet av 1 m\/sek. P\u00e5 cirka 75 meters h\u00f6jd saktar hissen ner till 0,2 m\/s f\u00f6r att justera till den vertikala stigningen, och \u00e5terg\u00e5r sedan till full hastighet f\u00f6r resten av f\u00e4rden till observationsplattformen p\u00e5 toppen av den 161 meter h\u00f6ga pylonen. Hissens U-600-styrskenor \u00e4r kr\u00f6kta med en lutning p\u00e5 13\u00b0 i den nedre delen och vertikala i den \u00f6vre delen. Alimak uppn\u00e5dde detta genom att dela upp huvudramen i fem delar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rama VIII-bron \u00e4r uppkallad efter Thailands tidigare kung Rama VIII och invigdes officiellt i september 2002, samma \u00e5r som Bangkok firade sitt 220-\u00e5rsjubileum.
