Alimak STS 300 helps keep scaffolding moving on high-profile London demolition project

The Mark demolition project in London required extensive scaffolding to support the deconstruction works. In total, 25 metre high scaffolding had to be erected around all sides of the building.

On a project of this scale, maintaining momentum is essential. Any delay in material movement can impact project timelines, so the scaffolding operation required a reliable vertical access solution that would support efficient logistics and help maintain safe working practices across the site.

All Seasons Scaffolding selected the AlimakTM STS 300 Scaffold Transportation System to support a more efficient material handling process. The unit was used to lift scaffold materials above the sixth floor – beyond the reach of the site’s truck-mounted crane – helping ensure materials could be delivered quickly and consistently to where they were needed.

A key operational advantage of the STS 300 on this project was the use of multiple baskets. While one basket was being lifted to a height of up to 23 metres, another could be loaded at ground level, enabling quick changeovers and a near-continuous flow of materials. This helped reduce downtime, improve work flow and keep the scaffolding phase progressing to plan.

The STS 300 also helped reduce the manual handling involved in moving scaffold materials. With a 300 kg payload, the unit enabled larger loads to be transported vertically, supporting a more efficient process and helping reduce the physical strain associated with manual lifting.

Chosen for its productivity, flexibility and ease of deployment, the self-installed STS 300 gave All Seasons Scaffolding greater control over when and where the machine was used.

To ensure they were able to install the STS 300 correctly, All Seasons Scaffolding first made sure that their team had completed a practical installers course and the STS 300 e-learning with one of Alimak’s experienced experts.
